HISTORY
The Competitions inaugural meeting was held at the Molineux Hotel,Wolverhampton on Thurs 16th September 1926.
AE David a well respected figure in local football circles was elected Chairman.
It was passed that all proceeds were to be donated to the Blind Institute.
24 teams entered and the first final was played at the Molineux on Thursday 14th April 1927.
Short Heath United beat Cannon 2-0, att 1000+.
£13/9/0p was raised.

Representatives from the following clubs also attended LM&S, Gas, Chillington, Union Works, Vaughan Bros, Tarmac, GWR, Short Heath, Upper Ettingshall, Fox of Shipley, St Patricks, Harrows, AJS, Blakenhall St Lukes, & Bradley Prims.

Apologies received from Major F Carr, Messrs TW Simpson, HW Hunt & Shifnal Manor.

 

Mr BE Hunt presented the Cup to the President to be held in trust for the Institute for the Blind.

 

Speeches of a varied and encouraging in advice were made by the President, Messrs BE Hunt, C Tyldesley, Ald AG Jeffs, J Monckton , FL Ray, B Matthews and ACV Thomson Sec to the Institute for the Blind.

 

The Chairman (Mr AE David) thanked all for their support and encouragement.

Unanimously decided that the Rules as printed be adapted.

 

The election of 10 representatives to act on the Executive resulted as follows:

The following clubs having made application to join the competition were accepted and form the competition:

 

St Patricks, The Harrows,Tarmac, Bradmore St Phillips, Short Heath, Haywards, Upper Ettingshall, LM&S Railway, Shifnal, Vaughans, AJS, Fox of Shipley, Sunbeamland, Butler Sports, GWR 1&II, Bradley Prims, W’hampton Gas, Bridgnorth, Chillington, Cannon Iron, Union Works, Lilleshall, Blakenhall St Lukes.

 

Unanimously agreed that all teams go in the draw & that all teams play in the first round also that all matches should be played according to the rules.

 

Decided that next meeting should be held at the Molineux Hotel on Thursday Oct 21st at 7.45pm.
